WEAVING

Women have been weaving for thousands of years, from heirloom objects to the very fabric of society. Whilst using traditional African weaving techniques, we innovate the materials we use, in order to combat plastic waste from old tires and plastic bags. We create beautiful bags, rugs, baskets, table mats, among other items. At the FEMALE INNOVATION LAB we are not only sustaining an age old african tradition but the environment, by cleaning it from single use plastics, that clog gutters and drainages and are a major contributing factor to the annual flooding we experience during the raining season, causing severe threat to infrastructure, and human life.
